Searsmont — A major emergency response was reported Friday morning at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont after scanner-page reports described a structure fire, explosion, multiple injuries, and a mass-casualty response.
At approximately 10:15 a.m., the MidCoast Region Scanner Page reported a structure fire at Robbins Lumber on Main Street South. A later update, posted around 11:06 a.m., stated that a silo had exploded, with “multiple injuries,” multiple mutual-aid departments called, seven ambulances and two LifeFlight helicopters en route, and a mass-casualty incident in progress.
As of publication, official details on the number or severity of injuries, the cause of the incident, and the extent of damage had not been confirmed.
